Hello, I’m Hugh.

I’m a project‑focused data and analytics professional with more than a decade of experience delivering reporting, insight and operational intelligence across commercial, finance, operations, fraud and leadership teams. My work centres on turning complex, scattered data into clear, reliable reporting that helps organisations make better decisions.

Across my career I’ve delivered 100’s analytics solutions, supported hundreds of end clients, and helped teams understand and improve performance across millions of transactions, hundreds of KPIs and large‑scale operational processes. I specialise in Power BI, SQL and Microsoft Fabric, but my real strength is applying these tools in a practical, business‑focused way.

My data journey

I started in aviation and engineering, building reporting for high‑performance engine manufacturing and global aircraft consignment programmes. Those early roles taught me the value of clean data, clear KPIs and reporting that genuinely supports operational decision‑making.

In 2018 I moved into financial services, joining Equiniti and eventually becoming a Senior Client Insight Analyst. Over six years I delivered reporting and analytics across commercial, operational, financial and fraud functions — supporting 500+ UK clients, 4,000+ global clients and more than 100 business users.

My work included:

• Designing semantic models, ETL processes and reporting layers

• Building commercial and operational intelligence platforms

• Developing fraud monitoring and risk analytics

• Supporting leadership teams with executive reporting

• Contributing to the organisation’s Microsoft Fabric modernisation

I’ve worked with data estates containing tens of millions of active records, hundreds of millions of historical records and trillions in shareholder value. The common thread through all of it: making data understandable, reliable and genuinely useful.
